MEMBERS URGED TO COMPLETE PONI SURVEY
Members will be aware that a survey of the views and attitudes of police officers toward the Police Ombudsman's Office was recently circulated. The Federation is supporting this initiative and we would urge our members to take part and return the survey by Monday 17 March 2008.
The survey forms are anonymous and cannot be tracked to see who has or has not returned them. Any personal data is being collected purely for analysis purposes and will under no circumstances be referenced to individual responses.
Members are reminded of the independence of the survey. The effectiveness of questions and the impartiality of the analysis is being undertaken by Mr Malcolm Hibberd who has worked with the police service since 1982. He will write the final report which will be made available to the Chief Constable and representative organisations for comment.
The publication and processing of the questionnaires is being undertaken by Social and Market Strategic Research Ltd (SMSR), which specialises in public sector consultations. When the analysis is completed, all questionnaires will be destroyed, under supervision, by a secure waste company outside Northern Ireland. So please fill it in so that we have an authoritative survey of the standing of the Ombudsman's Office.
