DEATH OF ALAN WRIGHT, MBE - FORMER CHAIRMAN OF THE PFNI
It is with deep regret and sadness that the Police Federation for
Northern Ireland has learnt today of the death of Alan Wright, MBE after
a long illness. Alan was the Chairman of the Police Federation for NI
from 1976 until 1990 and was held in high regard by all members of the
RUC GC and the wider police family not only within Northern Ireland but
within the United Kingdom and the rest of the world.
Alan Wright was the Police Federation for NI during his Chairmanship.
There is little doubt that police officers within Northern Ireland and
the United Kingdom enjoy working conditions such as they are thanks to
the sterling efforts of Alan Wright during his Chairmanship.
The funeral is taking place on Tuesday 2 April 2008 at 10.00am at St
Columba's Church on the Sandown Road, East Belfast.
Terry Spence, Chairman of the Police Federation for NI, would like to
convey on behalf of the Police Federation for NI our deepest sympathy to
the family of Alan Wright.
Terry Spence
