PSNI Charity of the Year

As PSNI Charity of the Year for 2011, you will appreciate this is a big year for our charity the RUCGC - PSNI Benevolent Fund, which this year is celebrating 40 years of providing welfare support to our serving and ex officers, injured and disabled officers, widows, dependant children and parents of deceased officers.

Throughout the years the Fund has provided much needed financial assistance to hardship cases coupled with practical support through the hard work of all our Benevolent Fund Representatives. Upon application the Benevolent

Fund representatives carry out home visits in response to requests for support,providing assistance and guidance. 

Our Local Voluntary Welfare Groups, which operate throughout the Province, arrange outings and social events and generally keep in touch with as many ex members as possible.

Fundraising has begun in many areas with events such as Bike Run’s, Quiz Nights, Golf Events and even a Sausage Sizzle all being planned over the next few months. The money raised will primarily go to help the work of the Benevolent Fund however,  I am particularly pleased to be able to say that 25%  of all monies raised in this effort will be donated towards the welfare of our own Support Staff who provide a vital role within the organisation.
