PSNI Officers Take Part in Largest Ever Lobby on Westminster
Led by the Police Federation of Northern Ireland, officers of the Police Service of Northern Ireland will be playing their part at Westminster on Wednesday 13 March when they take part in a day long lobbying event on Police Reform.
The local officers will be joined by several thousand colleagues from England, Scotland and Wales who will all be giving their support to the Police Federations' efforts to influence MPs about the future of policing.
Among the people at the meeting will be several Westminster MPs and Peers, including local Members of Parliament.
Commenting on the event, Jimmy Spratt, Chairman of the Police Federation of Northern Ireland, said: "This will be one of the largest turnouts from the UK Police Service that has ever been seen and is a measure of the strength of the rejection of Blunkett's proposals on Police Reform. The Police Service of Northern Ireland already knows the consequences of introducing proposals which can only lead to the undermining of police morale."
