Police Association Granted Leave for Judicial Review of Omagh Report

At the High Court in Belfast today Mr Justice Kerr granted leave to the Police Association for Northern Ireland to apply for Judicial Review of the Ombudsman's Report into the Omagh bombing.

In an unprecedented step the three staff associations representing members of the Police Service of Northern Ireland of every rank had lodged the Application for leave.

The Application is on behalf of the officers criticised in the Ombudsman's Report and who were given no right of reply. It will proceed on a date to be fixed.
