Police Federation statement on permission to launch High Court challenge on pay decision

Terry Spence, Chairman of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland welcomed the High Court decision and stated "whilst we recognise this is the first step in the legal process we believe it sends a clear message to the Government and in particular the Home Secretary that the failure to implement in full the decision of the Independent Police Arbitration Tribunal was an unlawful one".

Stevie McCann, Secretary of the Police Federation for Northern Ireland also welcomed the decision and stated "the fact that our application for a Judicial Review has been successful adds weight to what the U.K Federations have been saying with regards to the dishonourable decision by the Home Secretary to fail to implement the recommendation of the Independent Police Arbitration Tribunal".
