The Federation - Regions
No. 6 Regional Board
During 2007 this Board has worked
diligently to support our members in areas
of Welfare, Discipline, Health and Safety and
other areas of concern to them.
The Region has major concerns with the
introduction of Local Absence Review Panels
(LARPs). This is partly due to the fact that
our Board currently covers H and G Districts,
resulting in different methods being used
for its operation. Our Representatives
continue to address problems and have
been successful in introducing a pre-LARP
meeting within H District.
This Region continues to address
Health and Safety concerns. Duties of
the Representative include Accident
Investigation, Safety Inspections and
Attendance at Numerous Meetings. This is
a very time consuming role and is one for
which the Regional Board has raised the
need for adequate duty time.
The Regional Board would like to extend
its congratulations to its Secretary, Reserve
Constable John McCammon who was
awarded the Health and Safety Practitioner
of the year by the Association of Police
Health and Safety Advisers in the UK and
also by the HSENI.
