Terry SpenceTerry Spence -  Chairman PFNI October 2006-Present

Terry Spence joined the Royal Ulster Constabulary in 1977 and has served in the following stations: Glengormley, Musgrave Street, Tennent Street CID, was promoted to rank of Sergeant and then served in Newtownstewart HMSU, Woodbourne, Springfield Road, Mountpottinger and Willowfield.

First elected to Regional Board in 1989 he has served on Central Committee since 1994. Terry was elected as Assistant Secretary of the PFNI on 12 April 2002 and became Secretary of the Federation from April 2004 - October 2006.

Other posts held include:

  • Lead Negotiator at Police Negotiating Board regarding Pay, Pension & Allowance issues and Conditions of Service for all Federated Ranks;
  • Negotiator on behalf of PFNI regarding the Full-Time Reserve Compulsory Severance Package and ongoing arrangements;
  • Director of Northern Ireland Police Fund;
  • PFNI Representative on European Confederation of Police;
  • PFNI Representative on International Law Enforcement Agency ILEC;
  • PFNI Representative on Board of Directors Harp & Crown Credit Union;
  • Vice Chairman of RUC Benevolent Fund;
  • Trustee and PFNI Representative on Police Dependants' Trust;
  • Director of and PFNI Representative on Police Retraining and Rehabilitation Trust;
  • Personnel LO for all PFNI Support Staff at Central Office, Garnerville;
  • PFNI Representative at CARE Forum.
