PFNI Legal Action- Data Breach
PFNI Permanent Officials have been in discussions with our Legal partners when the data breach came to our knowledge on Tuesday.
The welfare and security of you and your family, is the priority, to ensure your safety as a result of your personal information being leaked into the public domain. PFNI are and will be in continuous discussion with SET around those concerns to ensure appropriate action is taken.
It is our intention to seek compensation for all our members in respect of your personal details being wrongly released into the public domain.
Our legal advice is that this is best done as a group action given the enormity of the breach so that it can be heard at the appropriate level of court should that be required.
There is no requirement to complete a PFNI legal application for this matter.
To add your name to this group case, please email [email protected] providing your contact details - name, service no, email and contact number.
A questionnaire is currently being designed by the solicitors, to gather information on the impact of the breach on you personally. This will be sent to your contact address for completion when you have registered your interest.
If you have the completed the welfare form recently circulated by ACC Todd it is important you retain a copy of this also.
All correspondence MUST be forwarded to the solicitor via the PFNI office where we will collate those wishing to be involved and ensure the secure transportation of information to the solicitor’s office.
We understand that the impact may change from completion of the questionnaire as time continues - any new information that comes to light or impact can be updated.
If you have any queries please contact Elaine McCormill, Treasurer via [email protected]
Further updates on the matter will be communicated to you as soon as possible.
